D+D World Map - Kirin by CaffeineHeart D+D World Map - Kirin by CaffeineHeart
My latest project! This is the unlabelled version. The labelled version will include a title as well as cities and nations and the like.

Kirin is a fictional fantasy world created by me over a period of... probably seven or so years, and one that I use in all my dungeons & dragons games and alot of my writing. I guess this map is the fruit of my labour, haha. I use this universe for my D&D games as well as my stories, and my players have found quite a good time in this world.

I've spent several weeks on this, using textures from google maps and satellite photos, as well as blending and other techniques to attempt to create a world that looks both beautiful and realistic, and will also be functional as a poster or a map for gaming.

I hope you enjoy it.

All the textures are miscellaneous screencaps of Google Earth images. I used the Clone brush in Photoshop extensively as well. :)

I could not find screencaps, you have some there that I can use? Or any site where you have?

I don't have them anymore since I changed computers, however there is a trick you can use to get your own. If you open Google Earth (if you have the program), or use Google Maps with the satelite view and not just street view, you can zoom in and look around for your desired terrain. After that you can simply use Alt+Print Screen, which will take a screenshot that you can paste (Ctrl+P) into Paint or Photoshop or what have you. If you have a Mac I'm sure there's a button but I dont know what it is. Hope that helps!

Wow. Looks sort of like Earth during the early Cretaceous.
